Heyo people! *cricket sound* Okayyyyy......
Anyway, as per request by Calvin Junichiro, I shall update my blog for today.
So what's up with my life recently?
Still fat, single, and moneyless.
*sigh*
So I just finished my internship at Averis recently.
By recent I mean last Wednesday, which is coincidentally 31/12 (or maybe not so coincident after all xD). *I just realized I like to press enter after every sentence. lol* It was fun. Like really fun. I was afraid I couldn't fit in at first. When I went for interview, I saw the staff there working so seriously and I thought to myself, "OMG so quiet. How am I going to survive this environment?!" Well thankfully I enrolled into the Fixed Asset department. It was the noisiest department on the second floor. Maybe because I was there. Now that I'm not, maybe it became quiet again. Lol. So let's start introducing people.
Sae Yee |
See the lady in beige? That's my supervisor. She's like my mother in the office. A very caring lady. We got along quite well (as usual). *laughs* She's always amazed by my humor and sometimes will laugh nonstop when I joke around. But when it comes to work, she's a very serious person. If an error is made, she'll want you to look it up asap and fix it. She's always worried about me because I'm an AS student, and I'm doing Accounting and Finance work. Well, I'm not complaining. This internship may not help me in studies, but definitely helped me in tackling more practical stuff. I'll come to that later. *oh god this is going to be a very long post* She always call me siu pang yao (little children) because I'm the youngest there, and therefore, the mother-like figure. She didn't expect me to be able to catch up fast because I'm from a different course after all, but I hope I didn't disappoint her.

Just fooling around. Heeeee~ |
Next in line, my direct senior. I mean he's the one who taught me how to use the system, how to process the workflows, etc. He's very soft-spoken, maybe because of the braces. He just had it like few months ago so maybe he hasn't gotten used to it. He didn't scold me even once (I didn't do anything worth scolding) and I disturb him quite a lot. xD When I'm bored, I'll go to his place and give him shoulder massage (but he said my skills are not good =( ) or take a ruler and poke him. Eventually I just used my fingers to poke him. Lol. We talked about my future pathway one day and he gave me his insight. Quite weird because that was just a few days after I came in. But that just shows he's worried (or curious) about my decision to enroll in Averis. A very nice person. Maybe a little slow on dirty jokes, but still a nice person nevertheless. May make a good boyfriend, considering his soft-spokenness. But I wouldn't know.
Emily |
My second senior, and my playmate. Lol. We can get quite crazy in the office, and hence we make noise quite often. My dirty joke mate, my poke mate, my bully mate. When I'm bored I go to her place to disturb her too, having said that, almost every time I pass by her, I'll give her a playful punch. A hands on girl. If you're not close to her, you might feel offended if she suddenly gropes you. xD She taught me about the system and all that stuff too, but since we're catering to different clients, she can just teach me those general stuff. A coffee lover, and a crazy person after lunch. You can say lunch fill up her crazy bar and boom! We're quite alike, almost like she's the female version of me in the office. The more the merrier right? :D
Suhana |
My senior's senior. She has been working here the longest in this department. She's knowledgeable about the work system and I ask her sometimes when things go wrong or I'm not confident about something or when I'm lazy to ask my senior who's sitting opposite of me and divided by 2 monitors. She's just sitting next to me. We didn't interact much because she's on medical leave the whole of my first month. And also because she's a Malay and almost all the others are Chinese. Not being racist here, but of there's still some language barrier. Overall, she's a nice lady as well.
Standing: Sui Lin Sitting: Erica |
My neighbors. Sui Lin was in Fixed Asset during my first month but transferred to another team after that. But she's just like 2 seats away so it's still okay. She taught me when my senior's not here. My joke mate as well but not dirty joke. Slow a bit. Haha. We didn't really talk a lot because Erica's between us. But we still go for lunch together and we'll joke then. On the other hand, I'm not close to Erica at all. We seldom talk, despite her sitting next to me. She's like the opposite of me. She's a very serious person. And she doesn't go lunch with me. And she's in the other team. So yeah. I tried talking to her once but I can sense the serious vibe from her. So I know I must not mess with her. xD But if I stayed longer her icy behavior might change.
Dennis |
My leng zai driver. Lol. He's the one always fetching us out to makan. We bonded quite well till we can start making kiss gestures to each other. He's in the other team as well, with Sui Lin and Erica. We have the same channel most of the time, especially during making dirty jokes. Haha.. I give her shoulder massages sometimes when I'm bored too. Actually, I give shoulder massages to everyone when I'm bored. Hahahahaha.. Except Suhana and Erica. xD
Desmond and Siew Yun |
Desmond. The love of my life. Hahaha.. Nahhhh.. But I did have a crush on him. I mean he's funny, and tall. And a banana. How often you meet a gay banana?!!! But he's straight. So well... =( My primary playmate. Sae Yee always say he and I are always doing stand up comedy. We're compatible after all, considering we're both bananas. So we have this special connection that no one else can understand. Lol. Not so special lar. It's just that we get each other's jokes and also what we're trying to convey. Quotes, movie choices, song choices, etc. He's like the ideal boyfriend for me. But oh well. Too bad. *cries* He came in 4 days later than me, so we're quite close, considering both of us are newbies in the department. He's a permanent staff though. Siew Yun is the latest addition to the newbie category. She came in a month after both of us came in. Together we become the newbie trio of Fixed Asset team. We're quite close, because we're of the same age. Coincidentally, I'm in August, Siew Yun in September, and Desmond's in October. So we're like the children and Sae Yee's the mother. We joke and play around very often. Gosh I miss them. We still keep in touch, but it's different when you can't see them. Or subconsciously I just wanna see Desmond. Hahahahaha..
Character introduction is done. So what do I do normally? Processing workflows. And being the mood setter for the team. I am quite famous on level 2, known as "The intern from FA". Maybe because I'm noisy. I think that must be it. Lol. And I managed to read the whole Twilight series (all 4 books) throughout the 3 months, and some other novels. Since I'm just an intern, they didn't teach me everything. So I only learnt the basic and hence, quite free when there's no workflows for me to process. I don't blame them. But due to this, I always feel I'm not one of them. I always feel out of place. It's not a nice feeling but it can't be helped. Just 3 months and I'm gone. We might never see each other again. But I still treasure the times we had. It's my best 3 months in 2014.
My colleagues in Averis. |
That sums up my internship.
Till next time.
Signing off.

DeleteYes, some sort of a weekly assignment for you. Hahaha... not asking you to blog every single day is already lenient to you. :p
DeleteI'm not a natural blogger lar. This is difficult for me as it is. xD
DeleteIt's not as difficult as you thought. Just write down whatever you encounter in life, be it your studies, career, friendship, personal life, family, etc. Your blog is like your personal diary.
